[ about me ]

Following the advice I might have given to a student (something I try more and more often to do these days), I have after years of deliberation, finally put aside my desire to first build a new system and have instead embraced simply writing HTML (of all things).

I feel Wiki

Actually the web seems in need of some straightforward hypertext again. I've been fascinated lately by Wikis. Wikis seem to me a return to the original conception of the Web. Berners-Lee's original browser was itself an editor. Also, wiki's (well, Wikipedia / MediaWiki in particular) seems to let documents be documents, with all their (academic) sections and sub-sections, and generous inline hypertext links.

Recently, meeting about a site redesign, a lead developer of the site in question mentioned that he had just recently warmed again to the idea of in-text links; he had been advising editors of his site not to place links in the body of their text as this might lessen the clarity / readability of the site. It seems we have drifted from what HyperText was meant to be.

'Keuzen bij borstkanker' Updated

Project Update: Keuzen bij borstkanker (Breast Cancer Choices) now has well over 100 clips and has been recently updated in time for October's Breast Cancer Awareness month here in Holland. I continue to work on this site along with Jeanine de Bruin.

"Video Wiki": Vathorstgroeit

This is a project I worked on at the beginning of the summer but never got around to making a link for. This was a collaboration with Lino Hellings and Menno Grootveld, two people I hope to continue working with in the future.
